Greenargy Climate Action

Empowering Clean Energy transition in Cameroon. At Greenargy we envision a future where all rural communities in Cameroon have access to clean and sustainable energy solutions, where energy poverty is eliminated. Enabling businesses, communities, individuals, particularly women and girls to lead productive lives, pursue education, engage in livelihoods, combat climate change, and contribute towards the overall development of their community.
One of Greenargy’s near ambition is to replace 1 million kerosene lamps with solar lighting technology by the year 2027. #NetZeroAmbition
Join Us - Take ActionBarrier to Renewable Energy in Rural Cameroon
Rural Cameroon faces significant barriers to accessing clean energy, including high costs, long distances, poor infrastructure, a scarcity of skilled professionals, and limited awareness of available solutions. This contributes to low electricity access rates in rural areas, estimated at 32% compared to 98% in urban areas, and forces reliance on traditional biomass for over 95% of energy needs, leading to deforestation and environmental degradation. The lack of reliable electricity also hinders gender equality, economic activities and private investment, with insufficient and unreliable power supply contributing to a 5% loss of annual GDP.

See how Greenargy Enterprise – Cameroon’s leading renewable energy and clean tech company is supporting innovations to make clean energy products and services affordable and accessible in rural communities in Cameroon
Greenargy Enterprise addresses these challenges by distributing high-quality, affordable, and easy-to-use clean energy products such as solar-powered systems and lamps, and clean cook stoves. They leverage a community-based marketing approach with fast, nationwide distribution and flexible payment plans, making these solutions more accessible and cheaper than traditional alternatives like the grid, kerosene, or generators. Greenargy also empowers women and girls by training and employing them as “Solar Ambassadors” to reach hard-to-access rural communities, thereby bridging the clean energy gap and promoting sustainable development. Greenargy contributes to Cameroon’s broader goal of expanding electricity access, increasing renewable energy use, and reducing reliance on diesel-based generation and kerosene lighting, thereby lowering costs and cutting carbon emissions
